General thoughts on New Zealand

Well hello again everyone and welcome back to my blog on emigrating to New Zealand. This page is just a reflection on how I am feeling at the moment. Well I've been here a year and a half now and settled well, although I would like to relocate soon to another part of the Country, simply because it was the first place I lived and remains to be the place I want to get a mortgage and settle permanently etc. Well, into March now and the summer is still going strong, very hot yesterday and I've got a wicked tan. It was good to sit out on the deck, have a couple of beers and a steak on the barbie. Starting to meet a lot more Kiwis now and having a good laugh at the local....

Some days I still get a bit homesick, although this is really begining to subside now. I enjoy my lifestyle so much more here, definately more healthy. I drink sensibly now as well as exercise more, it just seems esier here to settle into a healthier lifestyle than back in the UK, where everything just seemed to be same shit, different day. My career is begining to really take off here as well, which is good. One of the comments I notice is that people are on less wages than they were in the UK. This is true for many people, who were based more South and inland at the major cities in the UK. I lived in Lincolnshire and the wages there are the lowest in the UK. It used to make me laugh when on the news it would say thing such as the average wage was £27,000 ! Because I came from the lowest paid county back home, my wage here is a lot more, which makes life very much more easier indeed. It is a fact that there are less holidays but I am still owed 2 weeks leave at the end of a year and dont really mind.

Anyway thats all for now, not sure if this blog is on the net, which is a shame because I am sure people will have questions regarding this country, which I would be only too happy to provide my comment and thoughts......

Cheers Snapa.
